Heart of Jenin

Twelve year old Ahmed Khatib was shot by Israeli soldiers when he and another child who had been playing in the street were caught up in an exchange of fire between Israeli forces and Palestinian gunmen. An older boy ran, carrying Ahmed, trying to reach a hospital in Jenin where they lived.

One Man's Courage Gives Hope

German born Ivan Klasnic became the first player ever to take part in the European Football Championships after a kidney transplant, and completed his stunning recovery, scoring to give Croatia a 1-0 win over Poland.

Launch of Strangeboat

Strange Boat, the song, and Strange Boat, the website were launched simultaneously (4th April, 08) and are integral to each other with both dedicated to the memory of Éamonn Goggin and all organ donors. The initial project was sponsored by Hibernian Aviva with the support and backing of the National Organ Procurement Service at Beaumont Hospital and the Irish Kidney Association. Informed consent

The Irish Kidney Association wish to clarify and explain its stance that informed consent should remain as the position for Irish organ donation with modifications and investment in donor coordinators.
