Strange Boat Golf Challenge
A unique charity golfing experience was shared by visiting US golfers with Connemara golfing colleagues at a special event held at the Connemara Isles Golf Club on Thursday, 30th August, 2012. All proceeds from the day's activities (€3,700) will help with the creation of Circle of Life, National Commemorative Garden to Organ Donors.
The day's event, which was called locally, "The Con Ryder Cup", also included an auction of golf memorabilia of Rory McIlroy and Padraig Harrington which were presented to Strange Boat Donor Foundation by the Harrington Family, golfing enthusiasts from Bangor, Co. Down, to help raise funds for the commemorative garden.

Thanks to everybody who participated in and supported the event.
"What could be more invigorating and inspirational than enjoying a day's golfing, knowing your participation will help raise awareness of the important life giving cause of organ donation", said Nancy Gilbane from Rhode Island. "And for some of us", continued Nancy "it was such a pleasure to relax and simply enjoy the rugged beauty of Connemara".

This is a breathtakingly scenic course located in one of the strongest Irish/Gaelic speaking areas of Ireland. It boasts the only thatched club house which is the ancestral home of the founders of the Golf Club, the Lynch Family.
