Constant flow of Visitors to Circle of Life Garden

Since Circle of Life garden was formally opened in early May, there has been a constant flow of visitors to the garden from right across the country and beyond, and the response is overwhelmingly positive.

Recent visitors to the garden

Surgeons, Tom Gorey (left), Mater Hospital, Patrick Broe, Beaumont Hospital  and Padraic Regan, UHG visited the Circle of Life Garden during a break from the annual Sir Peter Freyer Surgical Symposium which was held in Galway in early September. Last year the Royal College of Surgeons presented Strange Boat Donor Foundation with a cheque for €2,000 for the garden project.  Also, in the photo is Denis Goggin.

Kidney Recipient of 15 years,  Alec Taylor with his partner, Babette, meeting Martina, having travelled from Dublin to visit the garden. He was very moved by the experience, and in his own words: "I imagined myself - as I stood in front of the central stone dedicated to the donors, and with Martin Wroe’s inspiring words just read - holding the hand of my donor (as if he was standing on my right) and holding Eamonn Goggin’s hand (as if on my left)….two young men I never knew but who were there with me.  For sure".

RTE presenter Tracy Piggot took time out to visit the garden while in town for the Galway Races in July. Also in the photo, Pat O'Connor from Connemara, a good friend of Martina & Denis and of Strange Boat Donor Foundation.

Kathleen Loughnane and  Eamon Cannon who regularly stop at the garden for some time to reflect while out walking in Salthill.
