UCD Agricultural Society donates €7,500 to Strange Boat
UCD Agricultural Society donates €7,500 to Strange Boat Donor Foundation from their 2020/21 fundraising campaign.
Members of the UCD Agricultural Society presented two cheques from their 2020/21 fundraising campaign to Dermot Divilly, Chairman of Strange Boat Donor Foundation and to Norma Rohan, General Manager of Embrace Farm. The presentation of the two cheques, €7,500 each, was made at a recent event held at the UCD Agriculture and Food Science Centre in Dublin.
Each year the Society selects two charities to support and for 2020/21, Strange boat Donor Foundation together with Embrace Farm were chosen. ((Embrace Farm is a support network for families of people who have lost loved ones or suffered severe injuries in farm accidents).
Accepting the cheque on behalf of Strange Boat Donor Foundation, Dermot Divilly, Chairman of the Charity, thanked the Agricultural Society for selecting Strange Boat as one of their charities. On a personal level Dermot, who himself was a graduate of the UCD Faculty of Agriculture/Horticulture in the late 60’s, said he was privileged to be present to receive the very generous donation on behalf of Strange Boat Donor Foundation. This money, he assured the Society members, would be invested in the ongoing development and maintenance of the Circle of Life National Organ Donor Commemorative Garden created by the Charity in 2014 and located in Salthill, Galway.
