Gift of Life Candle in Botanic Gardens

A replica of the Gift of Life Candle from the Circle of Life Garden in Salthill was unveiled (Wednesday, 15th June) in the Botanic Gardens in Belfast, commemorating all of those who have given the gift of life through organ donation.

Call for 2nd Kidney Transplanting Hospital

At the launch of the 2016 Organ Donor Awareness Week (2nd April - 9th April), the IKA called for a second kidney transplanting hospital, predicting that the 2,000 number of people on dialysis now will be 3,000 in ten year's time.

Organ Donor Awareness Week

The Annual Organ Donor Awareness Week organised by the Irish Kidney Association took place this year from 1st - 8th April, and once again highlighted the ongoing and ever increasing demand for organ transplantation which relies on the public for organ donation.
