European Organ Donation Day

European day for organ donation and transplantation was held on September 9th, 2017.  It was organised by the European Directorate for the quality of medicines and health care, Council of Europe.

Transplant Team Ireland's success at world games

Transplant Team Ireland which includes 4 liver and 23 kidney recipients, ranging in age from 30 - 79, return home from the World Transplant Games with 14 gold, seven silver and 11 bronze medals. The games were held in Malaga, Spain from 25th June - and July.

Organ Donation Statistics for 2016

Minister for Health, Simon Harris, TD, recently opened the new headquarters for Organ Donation & Transplant Ireland (ODTI) in Temple Street in the heart of Dublin City Centre. At this event the ODTI annual report for 2016 was also published.

Irish Hotels Federation Donation to Strange Boat

At the recent Irish Hotels Federation Annual Conference Gala Dinner held at Lyrath Estate in Co. Kilenney, €5,700 was raised in support of the work of Strange Boat Donor Foundation.

Heart transplant recipient remembered

Family and friends of the late Austin Dobson, came together for a fundraising event in Oldcastle in Co. Meath (January 21st)  to remember and celebrate Austin's life and to raise awareness of the importance of organ donation.
